Connect - Junior High
Connect Junior High is all about developing a love for God’s word in students in grades 6-8. Each week five Bible passages from various places in the Bible are provided (click below for sample). Students are encouraged to read and write something down for each day. When the class meets, a portion of time is spent reviewing the assigned readings and insights gained by the students. The balance of class time is instructional to help sharpen our young people in the skills of comprehending, interpreting, and applying God’s word. Connect Junior High meets from 11:30 - 12:15.Strive For Five
Connect - Senior HIgh
Connect Senior High is all about building a biblical world view to tackle the tough questions raised within our culture. Students in grades 9-12 are also encouraged to be in God’s word throughout the week (click below for sample). When class meets Pastor Aaron commits some class time to review the passages studied during the week. The balance of class time is a guided discussion through a portion of scripture. Once a month the class tackles a topic by identifying key Bible passages that should inform our thinking on any given topic. Connect Senior High meets from 11:30 - 12:15.Take Time to Be Holy
Youth Group - ALIVE
ALIVE stands for Always Living In View of Eternity. Students in grades 6-12 meet on Sunday evenings from September to May from 6-7:15 pm . These evenings focus on the core values of our church: Worship, Mission, Equipping, Community, and Biblical Leadership. A typical evening includes: games that build community, worship, some time in God’s Word, prayer especially for the unsaved, and all of this under the leadership of Pastor Aaron and the other male and female volunteers.
These change year to year based on the gifting, age, and spiritual maturity of our students. But with the summer schedule usually additional time is spent hanging out on Tuesday nights, and usually there is a teen girls Bible study led by Pastor Aaron’s wife or one of our female volunteers. Pastor Aaron typically takes additional time to spend with the young men too. As a group or as individuals, the youth ministry has done mission’s trips, participated in Child Evangelism training, helped with running Bible Clubs and/ or Vacation Bible School. At other times the teens have engaged in service projects, outreach initiatives, or summer camp. To see what’s in store for this summer reach out to Pastor Aaron.
Each winter, teens in grades 6-12 enjoy a weekend away for spiritual recharging, fellowship, and fun. The food, games, and other outdoor activities form a great backdrop for spiritual renewal in the lives of our young people. For more details see Pastor Aaron.
