John 14:6

Foundations of our faith

GOD

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the perfect Creator of everything seen and unseen. He is holy, loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, and unchanging. Because of who He is, God alone is worthy of all our worship, honor, and praise.

REVELATION

God has made Himself known to us in several ways. Most fully, He revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ, who perfectly shows us what God is like. Additionally, God’s truth is revealed in the Bible, the inspired and trustworthy Word of God, and through the beauty and order of all creation around us.

MANKIND

THE FALL

Humans, both male and female, were created in God’s own image, designed to reflect His glory and character. From the beginning, God gave Adam and Eve the responsibility to care for the earth and all living things. People are unique among creation because they have the ability to relate to God and each other personally.
When Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, sin entered the world, breaking the perfect relationship between God and humanity. This fall not only affected humanity but also brought brokenness and suffering to all of creation. Since then, people are born with a natural tendency to turn away from God and struggle to live as He intended.

SALVATION

THE CHURCH & RESURRECTION

God’s love for us is so great that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. Through faith in Jesus, we receive forgiveness and are given the gift of eternal life, restored in relationship with God by grace, not by anything we can earn.
The Church is made up of all who believe in Jesus. It is called to be His hands and feet in the world, sharing the good news of salvation and living to glorify God. We also believe Jesus will return one day to judge all people and fully establish God’s kingdom. Until then, the Church waits with hope and purpose, living as a community of faith.

OUR CORe BELIEFS

At Beacon, our beliefs are firmly rooted in the clear teaching of Scripture. These core truths shape how we live, how we relate to one another, and how we serve our community. Whether you’re new to faith or have been walking with Christ for years, we invite you to explore the convictions that guide us and provide a foundation for hope, purpose, and life.

SCRIPTURE
We believe that the 66 books of the Bible both Old and New Testaments are God’s inspired Word. It is without error in it's original manuscripts and serves as the ultimate guide for faith and life. We value studying Scripture carefully, taking into account it's history, grammar, and context to understand its full meaning.
(Matthew 5:18-19; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
CREATION
We believe that God created the universe and all living things in six literal 24-hour days. All plants and animals reproduce according to their kinds, and humans are called to care for and steward the earth.
(Genesis 1:1-2, 21, 26; Colossians 1:16-17)
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person and God Himself, who works in believers to bring new life, guide, empower, and comfort them. He convicts the world of sin and helps us grow in faith and service.
(John 16:7-13; Romans 8:9-14; Ephesians 1:13-14)
BAPTISM & COMMUNION
We believe baptism is by full immersion and follows a person’s faith in Jesus. It symbolizes the believer’s new life. Communion is a sacred act remembering Jesus’ death and is shared until He returns. Both are important commands for the church.
(Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
LAST THINGS
We believe Jesus will return in the clouds to raise up His true followers from the earth to forever be with Him. This event is often referred to as the rapture. The exact timing of this event is not known by anyone except God. The whole world will go through a terrible event called the Great Tribulation. At the very end of this, Jesus will physically return to earth to establish His 1,000 year Kingdom reign. After this, the final judgment will take place, leading to eternal life with God in the New Heaven and New Earth or to eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire.
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-15)
CHRISTIAN LIBERTY
We believe each believer is responsible to God for their faith and life. Christians should be free to worship and follow God according to their conscience, as guided by Scripture.
(Romans 14; 1 Corinthians 8)
THE FAMILY
We believe God created the family as the foundation of society. Marriage is between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy is designed only within marriage. Children are a blessing from God, and parents are called to raise them with love and guidance.
(Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:21-33; Psalm 127:3)
CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe civil government is established by God to maintain order and promote justice. We are to pray for, respect, and obey government leaders, except when their commands conflict with God’s Word.
(Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-17)
GOD
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is sovereign, holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, and present everywhere. He is the foundation of all creation and life.
(Matthew 3:16-17; John 1:1-4; Psalm 139:1-12)
JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and rose from the dead. He now reigns in Heaven as our Savior, High Priest, and Mediator.
(Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-14; Hebrews 4:14-15)
MAN
We believe humans were created in God’s image and originally without sin. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, and now all people are born with a sinful nature that separates them from God.
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:10-18; Psalm 51:5)
SALVATION
We believe salvation is a gift from God, made possible through Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are saved by grace through faith alone, not by our works. When someone truly trusts Jesus, they are made new and secure in God’s family forever.
(John 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9)
ANGELS
We believe angels are real, created beings who serve God and help believers. The devil, often called Satan, which simply means "the adversary," and demons are fallen angels who oppose God’s work, but believers can stand strong against their influence through faith.
(Ephesians 6:10-16; Hebrews 1:14)
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is a community of baptized believers who gather to worship, learn, pray, serve, and share the gospel. It is led by male pastors, deacons, and other gifted leaders, working together to fulfill the Great Commission.
(Acts 2:41-42; Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 28:19-20)
