At Beacon, our ministry team is made up of faithful leaders who serve in many ways, both visible and behind the scenes. From elders and deacons to ministry directors and team leads, each person brings unique God-given gifts to their role. They are united by a shared desire to serve Christ, care for His people, and help the church thrive in truth and love. Whether teaching the Word, leading worship, mentoring students, or managing the livestream, our leaders serve to equip the body and glorify God in every detail.
MATT WATKINS
Elder
Matt loves just about anything involving water or snow, and he enjoys smoking meat and cooking alongside his children. He also has a soft spot for jigsaw puzzles, Doritos, and mowing the lawn while listening to contemporary jazz.

JOE DEPUY
Elder
Joe is married to Heidi, and they have two kids who keep life full of energy. He enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and savoring a good cup of coffee.

JAMES STRICKLAND
Outreach Team & Deacon Chairman
James is married to Krista and they have five kids. He works as a compliance manager at Equitable and teaches Red Cross CPR classes at the church. A total Trekkie, James also loves cooking, traveling, fishing, and joking that he’s the golfer you take out just to feel good about your game.

MIKE FOLEY
Missions Team & Trustee Chairman
Mike has lived in the Syracuse area his whole life. He’s married to Deborah, and they have three adult children. In their free time, they enjoy walking the golf course, cheering on Syracuse University sports, and playing pickleball.

KEITH WOODARD
Music Coordinator
Keith is married to Donna and they have three adult children and six grandchildren. He loves coffee, playing guitar, learning about creation science, and being outside in the sun. For Keith, the best days are spent with the Saints, worshiping our Savior.
